Keukenhof, also known as the Garden of Europe, is a treasure of floral beauty unlike any other, with flowers in all colors and shapes as far as the eye can see. In the spring, more than 7 million flower bulbs are in full bloom, among more than 800 different sorts of tulips, the flower that has made the Netherlands famous the world over. In addition to its 32 acres of flowers beds, Keukenhof also offers unique works of art, events, and flower shows.
History of Keukenhof
Historically, the park was designed as an ornamental garden for Castle Keukenhof at the height of the Romantic period in 1857. Since 1950, millions of tulips have flowered in the atmospheric garden surrounding the central pond with its gorgeous vistas and centuries-old beech trees, a sight that has proven an unforgettable experience for generations of visitors.
