Food & Drinks at M/S Carl Michael Bellman
The restaurateurs at M/S Carl Michael Bellman are Maxan Ylijärvi and Björn Tagesson. All food served on board is prepared entirely from scratch in the ship's own kitchen. The two experienced chefs are passionate about creating classic dishes with a modern twist and have little extra passion for fish and shellfish.
We at Stromma work actively together with our restaurateurs to reduce our impact on the environment. In our restaurants, we are careful and do not use, for example, single-use plastic, we only use environmentally friendly cleaning products, and we only serve environmentally and fair-traded coffee and tea, etc. Please read more about our sustainability work.
M/S Carl Michael Bellman is also available to rent for traditional Christmas dining cruise in the Gothenburg Archipelago.
The History of M/S Carl Michael Bellman
M/S Carl Michael Bellman was built in 1988 by Boghammar Marin AB and delivered to AB August Lindholm. It was a joyful ceremony where Lena Roedenbeck christened the ship. The ship did a two-day PR cruise to Eskilstuna and Västerås before being put into traffic between Stockholm and Drottningholm during the day and during the evening as a dance and shrimp boat.
After a few years, the ship changed its home to Gothenburg and Börjessons Restaurang & Utflyktsbåtar AB managed traffic between Lilla Bommen, Nya Älvsborgs Fästning and around Hisningen. In 1995 it was sold to Bore Lines AB and the home place remained Gothenburg. In 1999, Bore Lines AB changed its name to Strömma Turism & Sjöfart AB. Over the years, operation and staffing have been managed by several different companies, but since 2009, Stromma has been responsible for it.
Did you know that representatives from the Rettig family, owners of Strömma Turism & Sjöfart AB, attended the ceremony in 1988 when the ship was named?
