    Kaufhaus des Westens, known as KaDeWe, is a department store. KaDeWe is one of the world's largest department stores. It is located at the famous shopping street Tauentzienstraße in the Neuer Westen area.

    Zoo Berlin
    The Berlin Zoo is the oldest zoo in Germany and has the most species in the world. The zoo is home to over 20000 animals, including giraffes, gorillas, elephants and great pandas.

    Urania
    Urania is a scientific research center founded 1888. In addition to research, Urania hosts various exhibitions, concerts and festivals within the area.

    Schloss Bellevue
    Bellevue Palace, the palace with beautiful views, is the official residence of the German president. Bellevue is located in central Berlin, in the Tiergarten district, close to the river Spree.

    Siegessäule
    The Siegessäule, the victory column, is located in the middle of Tiergarten. It ranks as one of Berlin’s most famous landmarks. The official name of golden statue on top may be Victoria, after the goddess of victory, but the Berliners call her simply Goldelse. At the top, just below Victoria, is a viewing platform that offers great views over Berlin. In the lower part of the Siegessäule you'll a museum of the monument's history.

    Tiergarten is a large park in the middle of central Berlin. Here you can enjoy green areas, ponds and flower gardens. The park also has several cafes and attractions, such as the victory column Siegessäule.

    Straße des 17. Juni
    The marvellous Straße des 17. Juni (17th of June Street) is an important thoroughfare, stretching from the Brandenburg Gate to the Ernst-Reuter-Platz in the city-west. This avenue traverses the Tiergarten, a wonderful park in the centre of Berlin. The street is named Straße des 17. Juni to commemorate the uprising of the East Germany on June 17, 1953.

    Brandenburg Gate
    This is possibly one of the most photographed places in Berlin and an iconic symbol for the city. The Brandenburg Gate is an 18th-century neoclassical monument, built during the period of King Frederick William II. The gate has a long history and has played different roles for the city.

    This is the oldest area of Berlin, named after the church Nikolaikirche that dates back to 13th century. Nikolaikirche is Berlin's first church, today it is a museum and concert hall.

    Potsdamer Platz
    This used to be a wasteland with the Berlin Wall running through it. But today it’s a completely new and modern area with restaurants, shopping centers, cinemas and modern architecture.

    Sony Center is a building complex located on Potsdamer Platz. The building complex has a large courtyard with a spectacular roof. In the courtyard there are outdoor seating and a large fountain.

    Kulturforum
    Kulturforum is located on Potsdamer Platz and consists of numerous museums. Together they house the European Art Collection. The buildings at the Kulturforum also include the Philharmonic Hall, the State Library and the State Institute of Music Research with the Museum of Musical Instruments.

    Neue Nationalgalerie
