Canal Apps

Canal is introducing as many as two apps as your personal guide on the canals. One especially for the Hop On – Hop Off Boat and another one for the other cruises. With the app, you can see where you are, look at photos and read information about the places of interest in the neighbourhood. After downloading, you will also have a good map available (which will also show where you are, offline as well) during your visit to Amsterdam.

Downloading an app can use up your data bundle, certainly if you do so abroad.
Fortunately, at Canal, we have a staggering 22 Wi-Fi hotspots on our moorings. Thanks to the free Wi-Fi, the apps can be downloaded for free.

The new Canal Bus app is a unique app which is your personal guide on the Amsterdam canals. The app provides information, in as many as six different languages, about the many places of interest which are located around and near the bus stops. You are the blue ball on the map. If you are sailing past the Anne Frank House for instance, you will be automatically told about the museum and will also be shown interesting photos.

Then you also have the useful Canal bus timetable. In one click you come to the timetable. This shows all the stops and times of the red, green and orange lines. Thanks to this timetable, you need never miss your Canal Bus again and you can plan your day out in Amsterdam to perfection.

Amsterdam Canals app

This app is also the perfect addition to your cruise. In the start menu, you can choose from the 100 Highlights Cruise or evening cruises. Just as with the Canal Bus, this app also lets you choose from six languages. If you have chosen the 100 Highlights cruise, you will have information available at every point of interest. Both audio and written text will automatically appear on your screen as you sail past a point of interest in Amsterdam.

If you have chosen Holland International Canal Cruises, the app will tell you in particular about the main highlights, so that you can continue to enjoy your meal during the evening cruise. For example, in between the various courses, you can obtain information about the most interesting things which Amsterdam has to offer. You can now combine gourmet dining and a taste of culture in one evening.

For both apps, you can choose from the languages Dutch, English, German, French, Spanish and Italian.
