If you’re still in the Netherlands in early May, it’s often the last chance of the season to catch the tulip region in full color. Keukenhof (in Lisse) is the most famous flower park in the country and a great day out for families with lots of walking paths, ponds, and themed gardens. Be sure to go early in the day to avoid the biggest crowds. Also look for the different combination tours that are available, these tours don't only offer access to the Keukenhof but also offer other experiences in combination with a Keukenhof visit.

Enjoy a relaxing afternoon in Het Vondelpark, Amsterdam's largest park. Walk or cycle and explore the many paths and ponds. Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy the peace and greenery of this park. The park is named after Joost van den Vondel, a Dutch poet and playwright. The park opened in 1865. In addition to the fields, trees, and ponds, the park also has some interesting sights including statues, fountains, the Vondelpark Open Air Theater, and several cafes.

Discover Amsterdam in a sporty way by renting a water bike from Stromma. Sail along the most beautiful canals and enjoy the view of the historic buildings and bridges while determining the pace yourself. A pedal boat also allows you to access the smaller canals which larger boats cannot enter. This is an ideal way to explore the city while being active.
