The two stolen paintings by Vincent van Gogh have been back on display at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam since March 2017. This tour celebrates the return of View of the Sea at Scheveningen and Congregation Leaving the Reformed Church in Nuenen, both of which are major works. This day trip takes you on a journey through Vincent's life. You retrace his steps in Nuenen then visit the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.
A 90-minute bus trip takes us to our first destination: the village of Nuenen in Brabant. Vincent lived here from December 1883 to November 1885. He was tremendously inspired by the area and was extremely productive while he was here. In a period of 2 years he completed more than 500 paintings and drawings. One of these was The Potato Eaters, which has since become one of his most famous paintings.
In Nuenen you can visit the Vincentre museum. You can also discover some of the 23 locations associated with Van Gogh on foot or by bike. This excursion provides a unique insight into the life of one of the world’s most celebrated artists of all time. Having concluded our visit to Nuenen, we travel back to Amsterdam where you can admire the 2 recently recovered paintings and other major works by Vincent van Gogh at the Van Gogh Museum. The tour includes a ticket for a canal cruise through Amsterdam.
