2020-11-30

Small & light presents - Gift cards, vouchers and season tickets in Stockholm

Here you can find our best tips of Christmas gifts that you can easily send in the post, as well as practical advice to make sure they get there in time. Christmas will probably look a lot different for many families this year and we might not be able to meet up like usual. But that doesn’t mean we have to skip the Christmas gifts. One of the easiest way to make sure you still get a present to those you love is to send it with regular post, and if it fits in an envelope you will save a lot on shipping costs and it’s guaranteed to fit in the receivers post box! We have made the ultimate gift guide for friends, parents, couples and children!

Gift a fancy meal at restaurant

Who doesn’t love being treated to a nice meal? Choose their favourite cuisine – Italian, Swedish, Japanese, Korean, Lebanese or fine dining. A lot of restaurants are struggling at the moment and a gift card at their favourite restaurant is not only the perfect Christmas gift but a good way of supporting your local restaurant. There are several restaurants where you can buy gift cards online – if you look at Bokabord.se there are over 100 restaurants all over Sweden to choose from.

Junibacken – perfect Christmas present for the family

If you want to gift a present full of fun and play an annual pass at Junibacken is a great option. Here children and adults get to experience the magical world of Astrid Lindgren through song, theatre and fantasy. The annual pass is digital and can be purchased online. It’s valid 12 months from the day of the first visit and gives free access to all exhibitions, the story train, theatres and discounts in the bookstore. The card is personal for adults but not for children.

Gift an archipelago experience

Give someone you love a memory for life – treat them to a gift card filled with unique experiences in the archipelago and Lake Mälaren. You decide the amount you want to put on the card and the receiver can choose how to spend it – maybe a dining cruise with the best views in Stockholm, a day trip in the archipelago or sightseeing all year around? The gift card can be purchased online and is valid for 18 months.

Charitable gift filled with love

Gift a present filled with love – make a donation to charity and get a gift certificate to give. The charity My Special Day works to make a difference in the lives of children and young adults in Sweden with critical illnesses and diagnoses. A present that touches the heart!

The ”treat yourself” gift

One thing that many of us forget to do is to take time out to relax in our everyday lives. Why not buy a gift certificate to a fantastic spa for someone you love? Maybe one of your friends would relish the chance of a bit of peace and quiet in an algae-bath or a full body massage? The benefit of a gift certificate to a spa is that you can often choose from everything from basic treatments to weekend packages with dinner and overnight stay. If you buy a gift certificate from Svenska Spa Hotell it’s valid at 43 of the best spas in Sweden.

The family gift – annual pass to Skansen

An annual pass to Skansen is a great gift for families. Skansen is a favourite amongst most families with children and an annual pass is not only filled with great experiences but a way to support Skansen that has been struggling during the pandemic. The annual pass is valid for one adult and one child, with the option to add another child. The passes can be brought online and is activated when it’s used for the first time. The pass gives you free entry all year around and other benefits such as discounts in the shop.

A Christmas gift for the planet

Do you want to contribute to a better climate and help animals all over the world? This is the perfect gift for that friend or family member that hasn’t got a wish list for Santa (or has everything already). This is a gift that is often very well received – support WWF and donate a sum of choice. You will receive a gift receipt that you can give as a present.

Did you know that Stromma works with WWF to create a cleaner Baltic Sea. Read more about this on Stromma’s website.

Christmas tips from Postnord

Christmas is the busiest time for the postal services and this year will most likely be busier than most. Read these tips from postal service provider Postnord to ensure your cards and gift arrive in time and to the right place.

Best tips for sending post before Christmas

  • Send your package in good time – latest December 6th for international post and December 21st for Sweden.
  • If possible, prepare and pack your parcel at home
  • Write address and sender contact details clearly. Put a note inside the package in case the exterior address note was to disappear.
  • If you send something addressed to children – remember that they might need to show ID to collect it. Address the package to a parent or caregiver if you are unsure.
