The Coronation of Poppea – Summer Opera 2026
In summer 2026, Drottningholm Palace Theatre presents a magnificent new production of L’incoronazione di Poppea (The Coronation of Poppea) – Claudio Monteverdi’s celebrated opera from 1642. The production will be performed between 1 and 15 August, with eight exclusive performances in the world-unique 18th-century theatre at Drottningholm.
The production is led by Anna Karinsdotter, Artistic Director of Drottningholm Palace Theatre, and Francesco Corti, Music Director. Together with an international artistic team, they bring Monteverdi’s masterpiece to life in this remarkable Baroque theatre.
