Agrippina - summer 2020
Composed for the 1709–10 Venice Carnevale season, Agrippina is an ironic comedy of power and eroticism with a strong woman in the title role. The plot is borrowed from Roman history and centres on the megalomaniac empress Agrippina, who is plotting to secure the imperial throne for her son Nerone following the death of the emperor Claudio. The director is Staffan Valdemar Holm and Ann Hallenberg sings the title role as Agrippina.
Drottningholms Slottsteater, the Court Theatre, is a unique theatre building from 1766 on the Royal domain of Drottningholm.
