The flagship S/S Stockholm from 1931 resides in Nybroviken in central Stockholm and is larger than most classic archipelago ships. It’s beautifully decorated in art deco style and has a unique atmosphere – travelling with S/S Stockholm is an experience out of the ordinary.

Experience the capital of the archipelago
We highly recommend a visit to the archipelago’s idyllic capital of Vaxholm. The harbour and the main street are the beating heart of the town, with delightful shops and art galleries, as well as charming cafés and restaurants. Explore the idyllic little town and stroll through the old quarter, with its quaint pastel-painted Edwardian wooden houses. Pass the main square and admire the town hall with its distinctive onion-shaped dome. The town’s tourist information centre is located here too, if you want to know more about Vaxholm.
A dip in the sea
There are several central bathing places in Vaxholm if you want to swim and sunbathe. One of the prettiest spots is Norrhamnsbadet, just below the picturesque rocks at Battery Park. There are rocks for sunbathing, a jetty and a small sandy beach that’s especially child friendly. Perfect for summer- and winter swim.

If you want to explore the historic Vaxholm Citadel, you can during the summer jump off at the fortress or disembark at Vaxholm and then take a boat across to the citadel.

During the cruise to and from Vaxholm, our on-board guide will share fascinating stories about the archipelago and its history, when you choose a return ticket. Secure your space onboard
Book your ticket online to ensure your space onboard one of our boats. Our online booking is always open and 100% of the capacity onboard are available for pre booking online. If the departure is fully booked online it will not be possible to buy tickets onboard the boat.
When you prebook your ticket online you are entitled to priority boarding, providing that you arrive 15 minutes prior to departure and use the queue dedicated to prebooked guests. If you arrive later than 15 minutes prior to departure, we cannot guarantee a space onboard if the max capacity has been reached.
Boat or bus back to Stockholm
Getting back to Stockholm is easy: you have many options and simply choose the one that suits you best. We recommend that you get on the next departure back to Stockholm with S/S Stockholm or the Cinderellabåtarna, please see timetable for departure times.
If none of these departures suit you, you can always take an SL bus from Söderhamnsplan in Vaxholm and jump off at Tekniska Högskolan in Stockholm, a journey that takes about 45 minutes.
