There are two ways to reach Vaxholm from Stockholm with Stromma. Choose between a relaxed archipelago journey or a fast ferry connection. Both depart from Strandvägen and include a café on board.
The scenic route with S/S Stockholm
Travel aboard a classic archipelago vessel on a relaxed 1.5-hour journey through Stockholm's middle archipelago. Enjoy live commentary from an on-board guide on departures at 12:00 and 15:00.
The fast route with M/S Cinderella II
Get to Vaxholm in just 50 minutes with this ferry. Ticket holders can also continue by boat to Vaxholms Kastell and Badholmen via a free transfer in Vaxholm. Departs from Strandvägen, Nacka Strand and Gåshaga.
Visit Vaxholm - the Archipelago Capital
Vaxholm is one of the Stockholm archipelago's most popular day trip destinations, known for its charming wooden houses, harbour, and boutique shops and cafés. It's easy to explore on foot and well worth a full afternoon.
Book online to guarantee your seat
All tickets must be booked in advance. 100% of capacity is bookable online — if a departure shows as sold out, no tickets will be available on board. Arrive at least 15 minutes before departure to use the priority boarding queue for pre-booked guests.
Getting back to Stockholm by boat or bus
Getting back is easy and flexible. Simply hop on the next return departure with S/S Stockholm or M/S Cinderella II. Check the timetable for exact times. Alternatively, an SL bus runs from Söderhamnsplan in Vaxholm to Tekniska Högskolan in Stockholm, taking around 45 minutes.
