Enjoy an exclusive full day cruise and discover the best parts of the Stockholm archipelago. The cruise runs with classic archipelago ship M/S Waxholm III, built in 1903, and takes you to the outer parts of the picturesque archipelago. The ship has a live guide that will tell you about the archipelago’s unique history and during the day you will stop at three different islands for a guided tour. The price also includes morning and afternoon coffee, lunch and dinner.
First class service and time for relaxation
As soon as you step onboard you can relax and just focus on enjoying the day as the staff provides the best service possible. As the ship departs from Nybroviken you will be served a morning coffee and sandwiches.
Carefully composed meals
The restaurateurs Maria Svensson and Jesper Taube have together carefully composed the meals and wine list for the ultimate dining experience. All food is cooked onboard using fresh and carefully selected produce.
The lunch is served in the ship’s dining room just before or after the boat stops at Kymendö. Before the ship stops at Bullerö you will enjoy coffee and homemade cake. Before dinner you will be served a glass of sparkling wine before enjoying a delicious two-course dinner. There is also a bar onboard where you can purchase drinks, snacks and sweets.
Live guide & island excursions
The ship’s own guide will guide the cruise throughout the day and tell you interesting anecdotes and facts about the sights you pass along the way. The boat stops at three different islands during the day where you can join an excursion on each island.
The first stop is the island of Kymendö, made famous by well renowned Swedish author August Strindberg who based the novel “The people of Hemsö” on his stay on the island. You will also have time to explore the island on your own.
Archipelago museum on Bullerö
The next island you will stop at is nature reserve Bullerö. Here you can also join a guided tour that takes you up to the archipelago museum. The island also has a beach if you want to take a swim to cool down.
Popular archipelgo island Sandhamn
The last stop of the day is the island of Sandhamn, a firm favourite amongst the sailing crowd. The narrow streets are lined with picturesque houses and magical forests. Join a guided tour to the older parts of the town and listen to tales of the island’s fascinating history.
Things to look for
To many people living in the archipelago M/S Waxholm III is a well known and welcome sight during the summer. In many places people come out to their terraces and cliffs to wave as the ship passes – and we will of course respond by using the ship’s bell and horn. If you are lucky you might also spot seals and eagles.
Good things to bring
During a full day in the archipelago the weather can change quicky, so we recommend that you bring the following:
- A warm sweater
- Umbrella or rain coat
- Blanket for the evening
- Swimming costume
- Sun cream
As this is a full day cruise and you will spend most time outside we do not recommend this cruise for children.
